Posting Comments:	Qualifications Education/Certification High School Diploma or GED Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver’s License with all school bus driving endorsements Bus Driver Certification Special Knowledge/Skills Must be 18 years of age Ability to pass alcohol and drug test Ability to complete required bus driver safety training Ability to operate bus Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions Knowledge of student discipline procedures and ability to manage student behavior Experience Experienced driver with clear driving record Summary of Responsibilities: Ensure the safety of passengers at all times. Check safety and operating conditions of assigned bus on a daily basis. Comply with general traffic laws as well as laws that are specific to safe operation of school buses. Utilize techniques of defensive driving in all traffic situations. Follow accepted procedures for administering first aid in the event of accidents or injuries. Follow recommended procedures for loading and unloading bus passengers. Meet needs of the exceptional child without comprising his/her dignity. Comply with policies and regulations governing the discipline of student bus passengers. Must be able to maintain all written records and reports pertaining to routes, students and bus. Uses radio for communication with dispatcher. Maintain emotional control under stress. Salary Schedule: This is a nine month position. Salary is based on district schedule, plus consideration of work-related experience(s). Please note that this is an employee-at-will position.
